Located near River Rhine next to Johanniterbrücke, in the centre of Basel’s most innovative neighbourhood when it comes to design and art, you find a small shop called Marinsel. The English translation of the slogan might be something like „A Space for Fashion and Things Related“. And what’s that, exactly?
Marinsel exhibits over 50 labels, most of them Swiss, all of them young and relatively unknown. And that’s a good thing: because these labels surf the highest waves of innovation when it comes to design and fashion. Independent and on the brink of breakthrough, the labels sold at Marinsel represent the latest trends in fashion.
The assortment changes all the time, as Marinsel manager Marianne Mumenthaler is constantly looking for new trends, products and designers. It’s worth having a look every now and then, there is always something new to see.
